that i'm back from norway. XD

and i'm starting to finally come out of my horrid art block that i've had for mooooonttthhsss. guhhhh

i want to do looser stuff though. i want to do things with free flowing lines and colors and patterns... more abstract. not SUPER abstract... but just enough to get you thinking... just enough to be able to evoke emotion and feeling without being so super constricted to common forms. you know?

anyway. any advice would be just SWELL.

and lets talk about music! tell me your fave bands right now. tell me about the stuff that gets you thinking. tell me about the music that inspires and shakes your WOOOORRRRLD.

go!

For fun, you might want to check out the program ArtRage - there's a pretty spiffy free version, and the full version is pretty darn reasonably priced. I've played around with it, and you can get some amazing effects that you just can't do in Photoshop.

Try out some master's studies, see what you get out of studying the techniques of other artists.

An artist you might like is Max Ernst, who has a surrealist style.

yah, i have it already. XD i bought the full version because the free version is way more limited than the program already is. i like it a lot though, its really nice- and the linework is great. :D

yah.. hm. his stuff is interesting but its a little TOO abstract for me. i think the stuff i'm kinda going for is more like:

Cool. I can't wait to have time to get and play around with the full version.

Ah. That's cool - I'll look forward to seeing what you come out of this with. (I did choose some of his more abstract pieces, some are a lot closer to what you linked)

I loved Scandinavia when I was there, I don't think I would mind living there, if it weren't for the crap winter. ^^

Music talk huh? I happen to by fluent in such talk...

Recently been injecting Placebo. I wrote a poem thing based on one of their songs a while ago.

You can read it ^there if you so desire.
Songs I would suggest by them is "Every You Every Me", "Pure Morning" and "Post Blue"

But there's this song we sang at Sanctuary that knocked me sideways. It's by Misty Edwards called "See the Way". So amazing and simple, yet profound. One line is "God is a lover looking for a lover, so he fashioned me." It's very repetitive and longish, but great for meditating.

Another AMAZING song is "Storm" by Lifehouse.
Holy WOW. I may be a bit biased as they are my fave but this song is moving to say the least.
I love this band because their stuff speaks so eloquently the stuff I have inside and can't always get out.

Another song is "Wake" by a band called Bightwood. So good!! I have a quote from that song on my facebook. "Pull me in, don't let me drown. This will not be easy, you'll have to hold me down. Tie me up, don't let me run- Because another day without you is another lifeless one". Yeah, right? Also you should check out all their stuff. They are spiff city.

I should just make you a mix. LoL
